HANNAH GLOVER

Womenswear Designer/Pattern Cutter

BA Fashion - University for the Creative Arts, Epsom

MA Creative Pattern Cutting - Nottingham Trent University

''The focus of my pattern cutting master’s degree was how smocking can be used to manipulate fabric into garments, maintaining traditional craft techniques within contemporary fashion. Achieved through manual and digital pattern cutting methods. Questioning fast fashion which produces low-quality garments and fast changing trends, leading to issues surrounding ethics and sustainability. This followed on from my bachelor studies, where I was particularly interested in the silhouette and craftmanship of vintage garments from the Victorian era and 1970s. My studies have strengthened skills in design development, commercial pattern cutting, tailoring and garment construction. Producing unique and viable garments which celebrate and reimagine British craftsmanship.''
