Design

After finalising my pattern, I made the final bomber jacket! I’m really happy with how its turned out as it reflect all the research of craft and historical garments did but is still modern.

Now I just need to finish everything else. After having a few tutorials with my tutor about my portfolio I researched lay out idea in magazines. This has helped me improve my portfolio skills greatly and is something I will do to improve my previous Ba portfolio.

For the photoshoot I researched imagery from the competitor brands to get an idea of what would be most suitable for my garment. I decided on a combination of relaxed images and more dynamic ones to fit with the sporty aesthetic. I ended up modeling it myself as unfortunately my model canceled last minute, but I think they turned out well. Once I’ve finished I would like to take some more images with it styled in a different way, perhaps with other garments that I had designed.

This week I’ve also digitised in my pattern and created a vector, if I had time I would like to grade the pattern in range of sizes. I would also like to create the bomber jacket in CLO 3D for my portfolio after the hand in, perhaps creating variations of it and other garments. Finally, I would like to also create a tech pack as I’ve ran out of time to do this.
